Having a news or blog section on your site allows you to create regular content for potential visitors.
Step 1 - Plan your post by choosing a relevant topic, easier if you've created a monthly content calendar for your website and social media.
Step 2 - Create an outline for your post, carry out any research or check your facts.
Step 3 - Craft an informative headline that will capture readers attention, maybe use a question. Searchers often ask questions in their searches, make sure your article answers the question.
Step 4 - Write your post, don't be afraid to do this in a couple of sessions. Sometimes helps to come back to a piece.
Step 5 - Use images, graphics and videos to illustrate your point and add links to relevant content on your website or on an external site.
Step 6 - Edit the post. Make sure it reads well and you've checked it for spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
Step 7 - Can your post be easily shared on social media? Do you have share buttons for visitors to use? Also, link to the full article from your social media posts.
Step 8 - Review your Google Analytics for insights into how your news or blog posts are performing.
